1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a site stores on your device. We also use similar technologies such as local storage. This policy covers both, and forms part of our privacy policy.
2. What we use them for
- Strictly necessary
- Keeping you signed in, protecting forms and payments against cross-site request forgery, remembering your language, rate limiting, and load balancing. The platform cannot work without these, so they are set without consent and cannot be switched off here.
- Functional
- Remembering preferences such as recent searches, favourites and display choices. Switching these off means we forget those preferences between visits.
- Analytics
- Understanding which pages are used and where journeys fail, so we can improve them. These are set only with your consent, and the data is de-identified or aggregated wherever that still answers the question.
- Advertising
- We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not use health-related activity for advertising.
3. Your choices
When you first visit we ask for your choice on non-essential cookies, and nothing non-essential is set before you make it. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer, and you can clear or block cookies in your browser settings — though blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop sign-in and booking from working.
4. Third parties
Some pages embed services that set their own cookies — the map on a branch page, and the hosted payment page you are taken to when you pay online. Those services are governed by their own policies, and we load the map only where the page needs it.
5. How long they last
Session cookies are deleted when you close the browser. Persistent cookies last only as long as their purpose requires — a preference for as long as it stays useful, a security cookie for the life of the session it protects.
